LiDAR significantly improves the safety of autonomous driving and is an essential complement to Level 2+ scenarios. The OPSENS product range is the best solution for LiDAR strategy in the automotive industry. Opsys pure solid-state scanning LiDAR provides best-in-class performance as well as scalable and automated production. It provides a long 300 m acquisition range, high resolution and excellent reliability at an affordable price point for mass vehicle production. Multiple measurements at each point increase the “signal-to-noise ratio” and “single point detection probability” to a higher level compared to any other LiDAR technology.
OPSENS is fast scanning without overlap. It achieves a detection range of 200 m for a 10% reflective target with a probability of detection (POD) > 90%. Opsys LiDAR has a uniform high resolution and the highest point cloud density on the market. Best-in-class performance is achieved across the entire field of view (FOV) at maximum scan speed. Even better, a simple lens change is all that is required to optimise performance for specific requirements.

Opsys integration possibilities
The system supports any required field of view (FOV) with multiple angular resolutions for each direction as required by specific applications or use cases. For example, the Opsys high resolution lens is used for long distances with a narrow FOV, making it suitable for forward sensing use cases such as L2+ autonomous driving systems. In contrast, the Opsys low-resolution lens is designed for shorter distance scenarios requiring a wide FOV - it is ideal for the side of the vehicle. In addition, a medium-resolution lens is also available and can be added to the mix. By using different combinations of all these lenses at different points around the vehicle, full autonomy can be achieved.
